                (Ernest Manning High School)

We are just completing the installation and putting the final touches on this 165,000 square foot high school in south west Calgary. The school is being built to replace the existing Ernest Manning High School which will be demolished to make way for the west leg of the LRT.

West LRT Parkade

This parkade ties together the west leg of the LRT with the West Calgary High School. The parkade will house 1000 cars, with the first level being allocated to the Calgary Board of Education for student parking and the remainder of the spaces being used for transit riders. The building is composed of vertical steel painted channels that are made to look like prairie grass. The blades of grass are accented with low energy LED lights that are set into a random number of the channels that provide interest during the evening hours. The parkade is going to be the second largest installation of photovoltaic cells in the city with three arrays being installed on the roof.

Sacred Heart Church

Trimen is pleased to be a part of the Sacred Heart Church’s centennial project. This renovation/addition includes a new narthex, as well as the renovation of some areas inside the existing building. This Calgary landmark first opened its doors in 1910 and the existing church as we see it today was constructed in 1930. The new addition is scheduled to be open for mass in September 2011.

St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church

Although their previous location on 17th Avenue was comfortable, the church lost their location due to the construction of the West LRT. As a result of this they decided that the best way to ensure sustainable development within the church was to build at a new location. The new church is being built on a 4.8 acre parcel of land in Balzac and is slated to be open in September 2011. This project is extremely challenging with a very unique architectural design and lighting.
